>Information Management
The Zuyd University Information Management course in Sittard is a four-year Bachelor's degree course. It trains its students into managers of the complex information flows in large organisations.
The course has one semester available in English. It consists of a Block Period of 10 weeks of theoretical and practical work. This may be followed by another Block Period of 10 weeks: a work placement/internship in industry.
Second Block period on request only
This industrial placement/internship Block Period is available on request. It is quite possible to register for the theoretical Block Period only.
Theoretical Block Period
This course deals with how to use new information concepts in such a way that the company you work for will remain competitive.
The course studies the rapid changes in the field of information and
communication from a management rather than a
technical perspective. Your job will be to develop facilities for a
virtual organisation or virtual form of cooperation, for example in an
outsourcing project. You will not only create protocols for the
organisational structure and its internal and external communication,
but also draw up rules for storing, retrieving and
authenticating information within that organisation.
English semester starts twice per year
The Information Management English semester starts twice per year, in November and in April. If you want to do the industrial placement/internship, you can do so in the Block Period preceding or following the theoretical course.
